RootX is effective & accepted for use by the EPA. The RootX formula has been killing roots for 20+ years. The active ingredient in RootX is the aquatic herbicide Dichlobenil which is used to control weed growth in residential flower beds and aquatic environments. The RootX formula also contains surfactants and degreasing agents that strip away the grime & grease on roots allowing the Dichlobenil to penetrate the root cells. Classified as a General Use Product by the EPA (as opposed to Restricted Use), RootX can be used in both sanitary and storm pipe without adversely affecting the environment or the people who apply it.
